The next five years are the strategic opportunity period for China's oil and gas industry. In response to this opportunity period, the high-end petrochemical equipment manufacturing industry plans in advance and has identified five key development directions. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period, the petrochemical equipment industry has achieved great results, such as refining equipment. The rate of autonomy exceeds 70%, but overall, there are still some outstanding problems in China's petrochemical equipment industry.
The first is the lack of capacity for independent innovation. On the whole, the degree of dependence on foreign technology is relatively high; followed by a low degree of industrial concentration and lack of large-scale leading enterprises with international competitiveness; again, the development of technological equipment is out of touch. The last and most urgent point to be solved is that the structure is irrational and the proportion of medium and low-end products is high. There is no link between scale speed, quality, and efficiency. The mode of extensive industrial development has not yet fundamentally changed.
These characteristics require China's petrochemical equipment industry to develop toward high-end as soon as possible. To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proposes that the top five key development directions of China's high-end petrochemical equipment in the next five years are: intelligent drilling systems, 10 million tons of oil refining, and 1 million tons of ethylene. Equipment, natural gas (shale gas) exploration and development equipment, deep sea oil and gas resources development equipment and oil and gas resources gathering and transportation equipment.
