Lear plans to build new plant in Morocco to produce automotive wiring products


According to PR Newswire, Lear Corporation, an automotive parts supplier, has announced that it will build a new factory in Amer Saflia, in the province of Kenitra, Morocco, to produce automotive wiring products.


Lear said that the new plant in Morocco is expected to be operational in 2013 and will create about 700 jobs in the area.


Mariano Torres, Vice President of Lear Europe/African Electric and Electronic Products Division, said: “Lear’s growing business in Morocco and around the world, with excellent operational management and support for the local community is our core value. ."


Lear currently operates three factories in Morocco, two of which are located in Tangier, which produces electrical wiring systems and car seats, and the other is located in Rabat, mainly for BMW, Renault and Volkswagen. European car companies such as autos supply electronic products such as battery chargers and gateway modules.
