Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical Diesel Hydrogenation Plant Starts Construction

On December 15, Guangzhou Petrochemical started construction of a 2 million ton/year diesel hydrogenation unit. The project has a total investment of more than 700 million yuan and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011. After the equipment is completed and put into production, the diesel products produced by Guangzhou Petrochemical can all meet the national 4 standard, and can produce 4.6 million tons of the country's 4 diesel.
In order to meet the demand for clean oil products in the Pearl River Delta, Guangzhou Petrochemical has accelerated the pace of oil quality upgrades. In December 2009, after the 1.5 million-ton/year catalytic gasoline desulfurization unit was put into operation, Guangzhou Petrochemical could produce 220,000 tons of national 4 gasoline per month. The 2 million-ton/year diesel hydrogenation unit upgrades catalyzed diesel, coking diesel, and hydrotreated diesel, so that the diesel blending component meets the national 4 standard, which can meet the demand for clean oil products in Guangzhou.
