US Department of Energy may consider using strategic oil reserves

If Hurricane Gustaffi affects crude oil production, the US Department of Energy may consider using strategic oil reserves. The IEA will also work with the United States to prepare for the use of strategic oil reserves when needed.

The U.S. Department of Energy said that if oil production or refinery operations in key areas are disrupted by the hurricane, they will consider releasing their reserves.

John Shages, a former U.S. strategic oil reserve official, said that the great damage caused by Hurricane Gustav may force the Bush administration to seek gas supplies in the global market.

Shages pointed out that if crude oil production and refineries are affected by hurricanes, then the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve Bureau will tell the International Energy Agency that it needs the same reflection of the international market.

Shages said in an interview on the 28th that the idea is that the refined products needed are higher than the demand for crude oil. With the same downward adjustment in the international market, all markets will decline, but when the market releases refined products, it opens the door to international market arbitrage.

The National Hurricane Center of the United States stated that Gustav had already weakened to a Category 2 hurricane on the morning of the 1st, and its center was about 75 miles south of New Orleans. The maximum sustainable wind power in Gustav is about 110 miles per hour, and it is expected that the hurricane-induced waves will be 10 to 14 feet above normal.

The Secretary of State for Oil Reserves David Johnson said on the 1st that the US Department of Energy has not made any predictions about the size of the petroleum reserve that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve may release. He pointed out that this will not be known until the hurricane passes.

The International Energy Agency said in Paris that if necessary, the IEA will work with the United States to prepare for the release of strategic oil reserves. This was taken after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The Reserve Capacity of the US Strategic Petroleum Reserves is 727 million barrels, and currently has 707 million barrels of crude oil.

The ball mill is horizontal cylindrical rotation device, driven by brim gearwheel. There are two chambers and grid. Material goes into the first chamber through the feeding inlet. Inside the first chamber, there are stage liners and ripple liners as well as steel balls. The shell rotates so as to generate electricity, and this force brings ball to a certain height and then balls drop down by gravity, the impact is the grinding force to the material. After the primary grinding, materials go into the second chamber through segregate screen. In the second chamber, there are flat liners and steel ball. After the secondary grinding, material is discharged from the discharging mouth. Then the whole grinding process is ended.
