The original imported automobile and spare parts imports fell sharply

According to Vietnam’s “Economic Times” reported on July 26, the General Administration of Statistics of Vietnam announced that after the original automobile imports in Vietnam showed a “recovery” of 3,000 vehicles in March, it fell again after entering April and remained at a level of 2,000 vehicles per month. It is the lowest record of imported automobile market in recent years. In July, the original automobile imports amounted to approximately 2,000 vehicles, and the import volume was approximately US$48 million, a decrease of US$1 million from the previous quarter. In the first seven months of this year, about 16,000 vehicles were imported, a decrease of 57.8% year-on-year; import value was 334 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 52.2%.

According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the imported cars in the first half of the year were mainly from South Korea (6,000 cars), Thailand (2309 cars), China (2101 cars) and India (993 cars). At the same time, imports of spare parts for auto assembly and maintenance also fell by 22% in the first half of the year to only US$735 million.
