On August 17, 2010, Bosch Automotive Components (Changsha) Co., Ltd. signed a new land agreement with the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone Administrative Committee to expand the production and R&D base of the Bosch Changsha plant. The total investment of the project is about 240 million yuan, which is expected to be completed in 2012. Once completed, the capacity of the Bosch Changsha plant will be doubled.
According to Li Yongshou, assistant to general manager of Bosch Changsha Co., Ltd., a new R&D center will also be located in the new plant area, serving automotive technology departments such as automotive electronics drivers, starters and generators. This will be Bosch's fifth local automotive technology R&D center established in China after Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi and Chongqing.
