Wenzhou is a microcosm of the use of natural gas resources in Zhejiang. With the construction of the West-East Gas Pipeline, the construction and development of the Chunxiao gas field in the East China Sea, and the introduction of the national encouragement policy, Zhejiang has made great progress in the use of natural gas for power generation.
According to the Natural Gas Sales Agreement signed by Zhejiang Natural Gas Development Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Huadian Banshan Power Generation Co., Ltd., Tarim Natural Gas will be sent to the generator set of the Hangzhou Banshan Power Plant this month to inject 'green energy' into Zhejiang, which is in urgent need of electricity. It is reported that this natural gas power generation project has a total investment of 4 billion yuan and is the largest natural gas power generation project in East China. At present, the first 390,000-kilowatt gas-fired combined cycle unit of Banshan Power Plant is about to enter the first ignition grid. After all production is expected to be completed, it will consume 770 million cubic meters of natural gas annually and generate 4.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
In addition, the Zhejiang LNG and natural gas power plant project with a total investment of 15.4 billion yuan is being built in the Beilun district of Ningbo; the first natural gas-fired power generation project based on private capital in Zhejiang province with an investment of 247 million yuan. Deeng Natural Gas Co., Ltd. project has been launched; on May 9th, the first phase of the Donghai Natural Gas Project—the oil-to-gas conversion project of Zhenhai Power Plant, with a total investment of about RMB 2.4 billion, will be the original two units of Zhenhai Power Plant 12.5 On the basis of the 10,000-kilowatt oil-fired unit, two sets of 350,000-kilowatt gas-fired steam combined-cycle generators will be built, and production is expected to start in August next year.
