Dichloromethane (DCM) is a multifunctional and powerful chloride solvent known for its high solubility. As a solvent, it is often used for coating removal, metal cleaning and polishing; It can also be used as a processing solvent in the production of drugs, polycarbonate, cellulose ester and photographic film, and as an extraction medium for aerosol propellant and food processing. Other uses include adhesives, cosmetics, plastic processing and foaming.
