The melting point of the solder is too low, and the strength of the solder joint is low; the melting point is too high, the grains of the base alloy tend to grow, the mechanical properties become worse, and the plasma arc cutting electrode deformation increases. Therefore, we chose silver-copper alloy as the solder. Tests have shown that silver-copper alloys as plasma arc cutting electrode solder have good electrical conductivity, wettability during brazing, and better filling ability are ideal for brazing CNC electrode arc cutting electrodes.

Vacuum degree and so on. The vacuum silver brazing process of the ion arc cutting electrode is completed in a vacuum vessel. The test results show that it not only avoids oxidation of the plasma arc cutting electrode, but also that the surface is bright (bright than the original). More importantly, the welding seams after vacuum degreasing, degassing, and film removal have greatly improved the bonding strength and compactness.

In the experiment, we strictly cleaned the plasma cutting electrode assembly, and pre-evacuated the furnace quickly to avoid generating new oxide films on the assembly and the solder. The vacuum is as high as possible before the heating. When heated to near the liquidus temperature of the silver-copper alloy, the degree of vacuum should not be too high. Tests have shown that a high degree of vacuum at high temperatures can aggravate the volatility of the metal elements and have no benefit for the brazed parts and equipment.

Vacuum brazing temperature selection. Silver brazing alloy solder brazing temperature only slightly higher than the melting point, in order to make the solder fluidity in the best condition. The results of the process test show that the temperature above the melting point of 3050e can meet the requirements of the process, and the high heating temperature may cause the melting point of the silver-copper brazing material to match the silver, causing the melting of the silver ring in severe cases. The heating temperature is low, and the melting of the solder does not completely affect the welding quality.
