As an environmentally friendly car, South Korean hydrogen fuel vehicles are still in their infancy, but they are gradually becoming popular. The long-term goal set by the Ministry of Environment of Korea is to promote 10,000 hydrogen fuel vehicles and build 100 hydrogen charging stations by 2020. Under this circumstance, fuel cell-specific materials have also received much attention.
Up to now, the bipolar plates in fuel cells are mainly made of graphite materials, but they are expensive and have poor impact resistance. If a 300-series stainless steel material is used, it is also necessary to use a highly conductive gold plating layer, and the manufacturing cost is too high, which limits its application.
To this end, the POFAS project team of the Pohang Institute of Technology developed the stainless steel POS470FC for fuel cell bipolar plates, applied for international patents from 2007 to 2010, and obtained the safety of the new renewable energy system of the Korea Energy Management Corporation. Durability certification, its conductivity and corrosion resistance are higher than the standards set by the US Department of Energy, and successfully passed the 17000h battery reliability test of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
POS470FC stainless steel was first used in household 1kW solid polymer fuel cell batteries in November 2012. It has been used in the second generation fuel cell system developed by Hyundai Motor and is planned to be mass-produced in 2018. POS470FC not only has excellent corrosion resistance, but also ensures high conductivity without coating process, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced by 40%. At the same time, the minimum thickness of the existing graphite material is 2 mm, and the size of the battery pack after laminating the bipolar plates is significantly increased, and if the POS470FC stainless steel is used, the thickness is about 70-150 μm, which can effectively reduce the size of the battery pack. The volume can be reduced by 50%, and the weight can be reduced by more than 30%, thereby achieving the effect of system weight reduction. On the other hand, Posco has adopted a multi-stage stamping, digital mechanical servo pressure forming, hydroforming and other forming processes to build a total solution from “material development and production to forming processingâ€.
According to Parker Research, the global market for fuel cells is expected to reach $15.7 billion in 2017. To achieve this vision, as a core component of the fuel cell stack, bipolar plates must be compacted while developing low-cost mass production technologies. Therefore, POS470FC stainless steel is expected to boost the further popularization of fuel cells in the future.
A double-toothed Roll Crusher is a type of crusher that uses two parallel toothed rollers to crush materials. It is designed for crushing materials such as coal, limestone, coke, etc., with a compressive strength of less than 240MPa and a moisture content of less than 35%.
The double-toothed roll crusher is composed of two toothed rollers, which rotate in opposite directions. The teeth on the rollers are arranged in a staggered pattern, which ensures that the materials are crushed evenly. The rollers are supported by bearings, and the gap between the rollers can be adjusted to control the size of the crushed materials.
The double-toothed roll crusher has several advantages over other types of crushers. First, it has a simple structure and is easy to operate. Second, it can crush materials with a higher moisture content than other types of crushers. Third, it produces a uniform product size, which is important for many applications.
