Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton recently announced that it had won the 2008 Supplier of the Year Award for GM's Valve Components Award category. Eaton has won this honor for two consecutive years. The list of winners was announced at the 17th Annual General Motors Supplier Conference and at the awards ceremony held at the General Motors Museum in Highland, Michigan.
Joseph Palchak, president of Eaton Motor Components Group, said: “We are honored to be recognized by General Motors as one of its best suppliers. This award proves that Eaton helps customers maintain their competition by providing customer service and meeting their needs. Power commitment."
The reason why Eaton was elected is because its technology helps improve fuel efficiency. Eaton is based in Konecranes, Nebraska, Roxboro, North Carolina, Trinity, Michigan, and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Service and distribution; and advanced valve components and materials developed at the engineering R&D centers in Marshall and Southfield, Michigan, are the main reasons for Eaton’s award.
GM's "Supplier of the Year Award" selection exercise since 1992, selected from worldwide leaders in procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics, based on supplier performance, service, technology, and price performance .
Eaton’s Automotive Components Group had sales of $1.9 billion in 2008 and has 10,000 employees worldwide. The Eaton Automotive Components Group provides key components for the automotive industry that can reduce emissions and fuel consumption, improve vehicle stability and performance. The main products include turbochargers, engine valves, valve train components, cylinder heads, lock and limited slip differentials, sensors, valve actuation, smart cruise control systems, tire valves, fluid connections, decorative body molds and Baffle plate.
It is mainly used for cooling the hot pellets come out of Pellet Mill. The high temperature 70°C-90°C pellet after cooling is less than 3°C-5°C ambient temperature, and reduce to safe moisture content. The cooling pellets not only increase the pellets hardness but also prevent mildew, eaay for storage and transportation.
The counter flow cooling principle is adopted to cool the pellets with high temperature and high moisture. Hot air touches hot pellets and cool air touches cool pellets so as to avoid the pellet surface crack by shock cooling produced by direct contact between cool air and hot pellets. At the same time, the airclosed airclock is adopted for feeding and bigger air inlet area, therefore it can get better cooling effects.
