It is reported that the Genesis truck launched this time is a smart and efficient truck product developed by Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., which integrates many high-tech advanced technologies. It is jointly developed with Cummins and is developed in China based on the US super truck project. The base model is Dongfeng Tianlong's flagship Dongfeng “Genesis†truck, which is the standard six-emission truck. The final delivery time will be around March 2020, closely following the “National Six†promotion schedule. It will be developed in stages before 2020, and it is very likely that unmanned driving will be achieved in the future.
Peng Lixin, vice president of Cummins and chief technology officer of Cummins China, said that Genesis trucks will be equipped with a new generation of Cummins ISZ diesel engines. The new models will increase thermal efficiency by 6%-10% on the basis of meeting the national six emission standards. The vehicle weight is significantly improved. In the designated roads and working conditions, the freight efficiency of the driving cycle is increased by 45%, and the fuel consumption of the whole vehicle is reduced by 30% compared with the basic vehicle. In addition, "Genesis" trucks will be highly competitive in electric accessories, smart cruise control, tire pressure retention systems, rear spoilers and more.
Compared with the US super truck project, “Genesis†trucks pay more attention to the acceptance of advanced technology in the Chinese market while significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions, so that the actual contribution rate is more advantageous. This model is a truck product jointly developed by the two parties and tailored for the Chinese market. It is cost-effective. The industry believes that Genesis trucks have special significance in driving the rapid development and upgrading of the auto parts supply chain.
