In recent years, the supervision of heavy-duty diesel vehicle emissions has become the top priority of Beijing's motor vehicle emission pollution control. In order to improve the vehicle emission control level and emission stability of heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers, and improve the ability to monitor the quality of vehicles in use, on December 1, 2017, Beijing released a new local standard DB11/1475-2017: "Heavy duty Vehicle exhaust pollutant emission limits and measurement methods (stages IV and V of the OBD method).

Since September 1, 2018, heavy-duty vehicles sold and registered in Beijing should meet the requirements of the "OBD Method" and "On-Board Method".

When the vehicle has a discharge problem, the system will generate a fault code and store it in the OBD system. The fault code cannot be cleared without repair. The type of vehicle emission problem can be read through the OBD system test tool.

The new Beijing five regulations are equivalent to the transition period of the country from the fifth to the sixth. The strict requirements are no small challenge for any manufacturer. Time is tight and tasks are heavy. Deutz Dachai organizes personnel analysis and regulations, cooperates with FAW Commercial Vehicle Development Institute to verify software strategy, and deploys special gantry for emission and OBD verification. In order to ensure the time node, the technicians worked overtime. After two consecutive weeks of bench test and 10-day vehicle OBD test, 38 items of OBD basic information flow detection and 17 parts of the sensor and component electrical fault simulation and recovery test were completed. 10 sensor reliability tests, 7 NOx control and emission tests, and 2 tamper-proof tests. After data analysis, test results demonstration, expert review, 4DK engine has met the requirements of the new Beijing five regulations, and responded to the launch of the Beijing market by the FAW Jiefang brand.
