According to the latest report from Reuters, Continental signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Baidu on Wednesday, and the two sides will jointly develop autonomous driving and smart connected cars.
Continental said in a statement that the two sides plan to develop technologies, products and business models around solutions for autonomous driving, smart connected cars and smart travel services. Frank Jourdan, member of the Executive Board of Continental Group, President of the Chassis and Safety Division, and Baidu President and COO Lu Qi signed the agreement in Berlin on Wednesday. At present, the competition in the global autonomous driving field is extremely fierce. Traditional automobile manufacturers, component suppliers, and technology companies have continuously expanded their camps through strategic cooperation.
In April of this year, Baidu signed a self-driving strategic cooperation agreement based on high-precision maps with Bosch Group, Goldtech and NavInfo to develop high-precision maps for autonomous driving for the Chinese market. On May 16, Delphi joined the three-party cooperation system of BMW, Intel and Mobileye to become the development partner and system integrator of its latest autonomous driving platform. In addition, Toyota and Nvidia, the network car service provider Lyft and the Waymo divested from the Google Autopilot project have reached a relevant alliance.
